Working In The Community
$1 dollar a week can make a huge difference to our community organizations and services. That is why the majority of our staff donate a dollar a week from their pay, Design
windows matches the staff amount dollar for dollar. Then once we have a considerable amount a vote is taken to see who receives the donation.

Cromwell St John is $1200 better off thanks to the efforts of staff at Design Windows, in Cromwell. Managing Director John Hancock said each year his staff members were given the opportunity to donate $1 each week to the Design Windows charity club, with the business matching dollar-for-dollar whatever the staff raised in a year. Staff members then get to vote for which charity they would like the money to go to, with Cromwell St John chosen this year. "We're just trying to give something back to the community and St John is a good organisation because you never know when you might need them." Cromwell St John team manager Peter Drinnan was appreciative of the donation and said it would be used to upgrade the organisation's communications equipment. Mr Hancock encouraged other local businesses to set up a similar initiative and said it was amazing how much money could be raised from only a small contribution each week.
