Thomson House

Enormous picture windows capture ocean views from the moment you walk through the entry door, positioned to make the most of the rugged West Coasts view of the Tasman sea this house sits proudly atop a hill of its own.

Architect Amanda Taylors brief for this expansive residence was to create an entertainers dream home with guest comfort its top priority. Each large bedroom off the living wing enjoys unparalleled access to the surrounding entertainment areas via aluminium sliding doors, enjoying both sun filled spaces and sheltered areas to suit any climate.

Energy efficiency was a high priority for this home; a high stud, voided spaces and huge floor area meant heating costs and its associated offsets were of concern. The use of Altherm thermally broken windows and doors, combined with Metro Performance Low-E Max glass double glazing, addressed the homeowners energy efficiency concerns by helping to maintain warmth in winter while cleverly positioned openings and cross ventilation helps to ensure it stays comfortably cool in the warmer months.

Duratec Powder coating & Icon Stainless steel hardware ensures trouble free maintenance in this exposed hill top location.
