This home constructed by Hector Egger features KLIMA uPVC with Aluclip and Low-E Max double glazed units with Argon Gas. The APL Klima series chosen for it’s high performing R Value, mitigating thermal loss and providing solar gain.
The Klima series is designed and made in New Zealand, for New Zealand conditions. It’s thermal efficiency is perfect for cooler climates such as Central Otago and durability can withstand NZ’s harsh sunlight without discoloring or degrading due to the durability of uPVC. Klima window systems are rated a maximum 6 energy stars under WEERS, when used with high-performance glazing, and have a long life expectancy.
The Kaestner house was pre-fabricated at the Hector Egger factory, then erected in 3 days onto a thermally broken slab on site. Accurate detailing meant no site measure was required for window fitting as the shop drawings provided the exact sizes and measurements. With the product being made locally in Cromwell with timber frames and the main house in the factory, there was minimal waste to this economic and speedy build!
